One in five suffer from hearing loss

BALTIMORE — Johns Hopkins University researchers have found that 20 percent of the people 12-and-over in the United States suffer from hearing loss significant enough to hamper communication.

Hearing loss reportedly doubles with every decade in life and is linked statistically to dementia, poor cognitive function and falling.

Editor: More informally, casual researchers are seeking a link between loud electric guitars, the kind of power tools you can pick up at Lowe’s and other “big box” stores, and delusional disorder.
