We’re looking forward to seeing Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life, which Beth Saulnier of the Ithaca Journal called an “intriguing, if occasionally frustrating, film (which) uses fantastical elements in its exploration of the life and loves of the iconic French singer, actor and composer.”

Kenneth Turan of the Bradenton Herald called it, “Unconventional, imaginative, nothing if not audacious.”

Gainsbourg is known in the U.S. for “Je T’Aime … Moi Non Plus,” a duet with Jane Birkin, the mother of his daughter, actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.

He is much better known in France and the rest of Europe, both as a songwriter for France Gall and as a recording artist in his own right.
